You decide whether you want to buy a single carbon steel pan or a complete set. You can buy the carbon steel pans in sizes 20, 24 and 28 cm (diameter). If you want both a medium and large carbon steel pan, you can buy a pan set where you get one of each.

Why choose a carbon steel pan?

There are many good reasons to buy a carbon steel pan.

Our carbon steel pans can withstand very high temperatures, they have impressive heat control and therefore respond quickly to changing temperatures, and they can be used for induction, gas, oven, etc. Carbon steel pans are also lighter than cast iron pans. Our carbon steel pans do not come with a nonstick coating, but over time the pans will automatically build up a natural nonstick effect. Your pan will only get better and better over time. What's more, carbon steel pans are incredibly durable and have a long lifespan. Because it doesn't have a nonstick coating that wears off, you can enjoy it for the rest of your life.

How to choose the right carbon steel pan

When choosing which carbon steel pans to buy, you need to look at the size. If you're cooking for one or two, a 20 or 24 cm carbon steel pan is perfect, or if you're cooking smaller quantities. If you're making larger portions or cooking for more people, we recommend a 28 cm carbon steel pan. For the greatest flexibility, we have a set with both sizes, where you also get the carbon steel pans at a discount.

Maintenance of carbon steel

Carbon steel should be coated in a layer of oil before first use, also known as seasoning. This is to protect against rust and to provide a natural nonstick effect. Over time, more and more oil is burned into the pan and the natural nonstick effect gets better and better over time.

To protect the seasoning, it is not recommended to wash a carbon steel with soap. Wiping the pan or griddle with a paper towel will often be enough. If you've never had carbon steel before, maintaining it may seem a bit complicated, but we promise: Once you get started, it's quite easy.
